How? Why?

There are eight tubes of toothpaste in my bathroom drawer.

Can you spot all eight?

On another note, I can’t believe it’s already September 26th. How’d that happen?! I’ve been here for three months now. It seems much longer than that, somehow; the rhythms of daily life, the routines that we humans fall into all too easily, have become so familiar that it seems I’ve been here for years. Except for the fact that I’ve never experienced winter here.

Yesterday I registered for National Novel Writing Month (“NaNoWriMo”) which takes place in November. I’m going to get busy with research and outlines within the next couple of weeks – along with building an Earthship-style chicken coop  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earthship), preparing a root cellar, a couple of climbing trips, and of course, more canning. Will I ever be mature and disciplined enough as a writer to create a work of fiction outside of the strictures of an extremely tight deadline? That remains to be seen!

I think all the toothpaste arrived courtesy of your family house guests. 🙂 I noticed a lot of Tom’s tubes laying around when we were there. Oh well, more for you!

Only two of them are from the house guests. Can you believe it?!
